Pronunciation

Etymology

From nonotcu ‘grandfather’ + -camu ‘spouse’.

Noun

nonotca-camu

  1. spouse of grandfather, step-grandparent
An overly-specific term that would be used in place of nona-camu in normal speech only in a case where one wanted to specify that the relative in question was married to one’s grandfather rather than one’s grandmother. There are additionally even more specific terms such as nonotca-caminu ‘grandfather’s wife’ and nonotca-camotcu ‘grandfather’s husband’ which are usually reserved for legal documents or other language that needs to be very precise.
