Europic
Pronunciation
- Europic Phonology: /not.ri.ji.tar.ju/
Etymology
From no-tri ‘intra- (into)’ + yite ‘to go’ + -aryu ‘-arium (location)’.
Noun
notri-yitaryu
- (Classical calque) entrance, entryway, foyer
- Not really a proper classical calque, since the original Latin did not contain the go element, and instead just formed a verb directly from the adverb, and the -ance ending has been replaced with the locational -aryu. This would be back-translated as something more like entritarium.
