Europic

Pronunciation

Etymology

From noninu ‘grandmother’ + -camu ‘spouse’.

Noun

nonina-camu

  1. spouse of grandmother, step-grandparent
An overly-specific term that would be used in place of nona-camu in normal speech only in a case where one wanted to specify that the relative in question was married to one’s grandmother rather than one’s grandfather. There are additionally even more specific terms such as nonina-caminu ‘grandmother’s wife’ and nonina-camotcu ‘grandmother’s husband’ which are usually reserved for legal documents or other language that needs to be very precise.
