Europic
Pronunciation
- Europic Phonology: /ni.ki.na.ʃa.mu/
Etymology
From nikinu ‘granddaughter’ + -camu ‘spouse’.
Noun
nikina-camu
- spouse of granddaughter, grandchild-in-law
- An overly-specific term that would be used in place of nika-camu in normal speech only in a case where one wanted to specify that the relative in question was married to one’s granddaughter rather than one’s grandson. There are additionally even more specific terms such as nikina-caminu ‘granddaughter’s wife’ and nikina-camotcu ‘niece’s husband’ which are usually reserved for legal documents or other language that needs to be very precise.
