Europic

Etymology

Root √ild.

Affix (Suffix, nominal)

-ildu

  1. holder, holster
The main difference between -ildu and -oldu is that the former is a container designed for a single object, while the latter may be several objects. For example, nojildu is a scabbard or holster for a (single) knife, while nojoldu is a something more like a drawer or case that holds many knives. On a larger scale, nojombu is a knife-collection or ‘armoury.’
