    A subordinate conjunction. Used as a suffix to convert phrasal conjunctions into clausal ones. A relativizing particle. Used as a prefix to convert interrogative adverbs or pronouns into relative ones. NB: When a clausal conjunction with a -ke suffix is followed by a relative conjunction with a ke- prefix, they are joined, sharing the same ke- (e.g. wa-ke ‘and + ke-kwano ‘when’ → wa-ke-kwano ‘and when’).
