Pronunciation

Adjective

swekra

  1. in-law, related by marriage, spouse’s relative
Usually expressed as a suffix (see -swekru). Familial terms such as this one can often be confusing in various languages. The term swekra always points first to the spouse of the referent; for example, vuxklina-swekru is the aunt of one's spouse, not the wife of one's uncle, which would be vuxkla-camu (or vuxklotxa-caminu if you wanted to be oddly specific, but this kind of term would only be used when there is some kind of distinction to be made).
